Preparing for your POS System

Installation & Training

I. Pre-Install (Pre-Launch) Checklist
  1. Allow a minimum of 4-6 weeks for programming, installation and training
    Larger restaurants and bars under construction or buildout should allow 6-8 weeks due to installation of electrical, Wi-Fi, and internet cabling.

  2. Plan the physical/layout of your new SkyTab POS
    Determine precisely where each piece of SkyTab POS hardware will be located. Consider workflow efficiency for staff.

  3. Electrical – Wi-Fi – Internet Cabling (Cat5/6)
    All our hardware is Wi-Fi. For restaurants using more than 3 POS’s we would recommend cabling directly from the modem to the device. However, Wi-Fi extenders can be added to correct this issue.
For restaurants under construction or in the buildout phase, we recommend addressing these 3 points as early as possible.
II. Installation of SkyTab POS

Once your SkyTab POS installation team arrives, they will begin installing and configuring the POS system.

1) Hardware Installation – Connecting all hardware devices to Wi-Fi or cabling, outlets & modems.

2) POS Software Setup – SkyTab POS will be already configured. May need minor adjustments.

3) Menu and Inventory Entry – Already configured. May need minor adjustments.

4) Create User Accounts and Permissions – For each staff member.

5) Setup Payment Processing

6) Testing and Validation – Hardware and Software

III. Post-Launch Team

After installation you will receive an email from a team member to see if you have any questions, want more training or any additional support.

Think of the member as a Personal Assistant.

Cable Termination You are responsible for having all cables terminated prior to your installation. Cables that need to be terminated will be subject to this fee for onsite installations. $50/termination $0
